Mayor’s Summer Reading Club (July 14th @10:30am) 640 Veterans Parkway

Join your favorite local baseball players from the Chattahoochee Monsters and Chatt-a-Hoots for an interactive read aloud this Friday (July 14th). The event begins at 10:30am with song and follow along with Miss Columbus State University, then we will hear the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club books read by the players, followed by a craft activity for all youth participates. This activity is tied to the Curious Cardinal and involves paint! Each participate ages 5 and under will take a copy of the MSRC book home to enjoy and add to their personal libraries. There will be other raffle items and giveaways as well.

Parents, caregivers, and daycare directors this is a perfect time to get a library card, bring in your completed reading logs and/or sign up to join the summer reading challenge! Keeping youth engaged in learning beyond the classroom is critical for school readiness and success. Make reading intentionally fun by joining our reading sessions and signing up for family workshops! This event is made possible via partnership with (GEEARS), the Mayor Skip Henderson, Columbus Family Connection, and Chattahoochee Valley Libraries.
